I see by a January 7, 2013 Gallup Poll,

Americans deplore  the government  role.

77%  of us say government is causing the U.S. “serious harm,”

and that government malfeasance is a cause for great  alarm.

 

Of the 77%, 87% are GOP, 79% Independents, and 68% Democrats,

No doubt among these Americans are dingbats, fat cats, and pole cats.

But on the whole, they represent how most of us feel,

That our political leaders have lost much of their appeal.

But if the bold  truth be told,

We all belong in the same fold.

We want to have our cake and eat it too.

That is the reason most of us feel so blue.

 

We want our Medicare benefits.

But not taxes to cut U.S. debits.

We want to cut that terrible government spending,

But not undrgo sacrifices accompanying cost bending.

That’s the fuss,

Woe is us.
