Those Who Chose Not Follow the Piper
*Apologies to Robert Browning (1812-1889) author ofThe Pied Piper of Hamelin

And out of the Republican House and Senate.
They all came tumbling,
Fat cats, small cats, lean cats, brawny cats,
Grave old plodders, brave young activists,
Followed by people by the tens of millions,
Many skeptical of spending trillions.
Those who came next,
Had read the 2500 pages of text.
Then the medical device makers,
And others taxed with income breakers,
Then families by the tens and dozens,
Who saw premiums rise with their cousins,
Brothers, sisters, husbands, wives,
Concerned how to save their health and lives,
The young, healthy, poor, and uninsured,
Forced to pay or with penalties to be endured.
The fast food and retail lowly paid,
Reduced to 29 hours with no health aid,
Followed  by organized unionized employees,
Deprived of fulltime jobs despite their pleas,
And so these citizens of  American heartlands,
Elected  not to follow the Piper’s commands.

Tweet:  Many Americans are no longer following the Pied Piper of D.C. City.
