No There There and No Buck Here
Part of being President is that there's so much beneath you that you can't know because the government is so vast.
David Axelrod, long-time Obama advisor
At a May 13 press conference, President Obama said,“There is no there there.” On his desk, President Truman had a sign that read, “The buck stops here.” Let’s see how Truman’s statement applies to Obama’s statement.
There is no there there,
And there is no buck here.
It occurred there,
Far, far from here.
The buck stops over there,
It never stops over here.
The buck stops way down there,
With those below me, not here.
I am not responsible for the buck
It’s somebody else’s bad luck.
The buck starts and ends there,
It never stops anywhere near here.
There, there, isn't that perfectly clear,
The buck always stops away from here.
The buck stops over there behind the eight ball,
This means: someone else must take the fall.
