Obamacare
from 30,000 Feet
From
this personal oxygen-deprived high
altitude,
Obamacare pros and cons boil down to attitude,
To
the following patron saints of individualism and conservatism,
of centralized command, control cand communication ollectivism,
Friedrich
Hayek (1899-1992) claimed the road of serfdom,
went
through the government command and control fiefdom,
But John
Maynard Keynes(1893-1946) said the road
to prosperity
required
massive frequent government stimuli not market austerity.
Milton
Friedman (1912-2005) said there was no free lunch,
And
those who preached otherwise were a naïve
bunch.
But John
Kenneth Galbraith (1908-2006), a fervid proponent of liberalism,
preached government directed and regulated compassionate secularism.
Winston
Churchill (1874-1965) said it best,
Much
better, in my opinion, than the rest,
“The
inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings;
the
inherent virtue of socialism is the equal sharing of miseries,”
What
we have under Obamacare, is a mix of blessings and miseries,
with
as of yet unproven conservative and liberal healthcare theories.
In the end, it all comes down to that delicate thing called balance,
of political parlance, government finance, and human advance.
Tweet: The debate over Obamacare boils down to competing philosophies over the role of government.
